A Vst consists of a (dc, ch1, dc) all in one stitch.
The model above (that’s me) has a 38” bust and is wearing a size M.
Choose your size according to your largest measurement (bust/waist) and how you would like the top to fit. For a close-fitting top, choose the size closest to your largest measurement. For a loose top, choose a size 2-3” larger.

Instructions
This top is worked from the bottom up. We will begin by working the lower body in the round, turning at the end of each round. Then, we will work the upper front and upper back in rows. There will be a small amount of sewing done at the shoulders and underarms. Lastly, all of the edges will be finished off with a simple single crochet border.

Sewing
We will start off by sewing the shoulders in place. Lay out your project with the right side out and the front side up. Move the outer corners of the front piece so that they match up with the outer corners of the back piece and pin them in place with locking stitch markers. Use more locking stitch markers to pin the front and back together where you would like the shoulder to start. Be sure you have the same amount of stitches pinned together on both shoulders. For example, I sewed 24 sts together for each shoulder to make my top. Your project should now look similar to Figure 3. Turn your project wrong side out and whip stitch the shoulders closed.
Figure 3
Next we will sew the underarms. You don’t have to sew the underarms if you don’t want to. You can make your armholes as big or as small as you like. I like my armholes to be roomy, but these were a little too big for my taste. To make your armholes smaller, simply use a locking stitch marker to pin the front and back together where you would like the bottom of your armhole to be (see Figures 4 & 5), then sew up the remainder. Be sure you have the same amount of rows open on both armholes.
Figure 4
Figure 5
Edging
Lastly, we will finish off the edges. Turn your project right side out.
Neck
With right side facing you, join your yarn anywhere on the back of the neck.
- Ch1. Sc in 1st st and each st around. Ss to join to 1st st. Bind off.
Armholes
With right side facing you, join your yarn near the bottom of the armhole.
- Ch1. Sc around the armhole evenly, placing 2 sts in the end of each dc row, and alternating between 1 and 2 sts in the end of each hdc row. Ss to join to 1st st. Bind off.
Bottom
With right side facing you, join your yarn anywhere along the bottom.
- Ch1. Sc in 1st st and each st around. Ss to join to 1st st. Bind off.
Weave in your ends, and you’re done!

And until next time… Happy Hooking! 😉
This is gorgeous! Thank you!
You are so welcome! And thank you! <3
I love this pattern thank you so much for sharing!
Can I ask what are the multiples if we wanted to make it larger / smaller?
I have some cotton yarn that I think would look wonderful worked up in this but it’s quite thin so I may need to make it larger.
You are so welcome, Kelly!
If you stick to a multiple of 6, then you should be safe. 🙂
Fab thank you!
