Welcome back to my channel

Today I will be doing a yarn review on Sugarbush Yarns Rapture
0:20
So back in July it was my birthday and of course all I wanted for my birthday was yarn
0:27
So I took a look at the Yarnspirations website. site and I came across this sugarbush rapture and I was immediately drawn to their collection
0:38
of colors in this particular yarn. I really love the dusty, cloudy look of all the hues
0:46
that this color this yarn comes in. This particular shade is called ravishing rose
0:52
Now, Rapture is made out of 50% Lama Soft and 50% superfine merino wool
1:03
Each hank is about 100 grams, which gives you 193 meters or 211 yards
1:12
It is labeled as a number four worsted weight, but it does feel and behave much like a number 3DK
1:22
I did do a wraps per inch test and it is 11 wraps per inch, which does fall under the number four worsted weight category
1:31
But it does have a very nice drape and it's a very soft yarn
1:36
So I believe that it would work quite well for many patterns that call for decay weight yarn
1:44
Rapture comes in a total of 12 shades They range from beages and browns to grays blues and even a couple of reds
1:56
The shades are all beautiful. It was very hard to choose which one had to come home with me
2:03
The colors are perfect for fall or winter or for those of us who enjoy our muted colors
2:09
throughout the year. And even though the colors appear a bit dusty and muted, they actually have a lot of personality
2:18
to them. If you take a close look, you'll see little flecks of color
2:25
Like for a ravishing rose, there's little flecks of red and some flex of black
2:34
And the general color is also heathered. It's got a lot of white streaks in it
2:42
And it's a little bit hard to catch all these details in my camera
2:47
But throughout your hank, you'll also find these little white hairs, which I believe are part of the Lama Soft
2:57
And all of this just kind of combines to give you this yarn that has a lot of dimension to it
3:04
and it will add a lot of personality to your projects. Now, because it comes in a hank, like you see here
3:11
you're going to have to wind it into a ball or a cake like I have here
3:18
I like to wind mine into cakes because I have this beautiful little yarn bowl that I love
3:22
to use so I can just pull it from the outside like so
3:28
But if you don have a yarn bowl you can also wind your cake and turn it into a center pole like so
3:52
And here I have an example of what this yarn looks like when you stitched up into a crochet project
4:00
You can see that it's got some wonderful stitchdut definition. And once you work it up into a project like this, this is where you can actually see how
4:13
the subtle differences in the shades kind of come out and you can see them in the project
4:23
The label recommends to use a 5.5 millimeter hook, which is what I used here
4:30
the resulting fabric is quite soft. It has some very wonderful drape to it. The stitches just pop
4:42
with this yarn. I really love it. So as I said at the beginning, I purchased these from the
4:54
Yarnspirations website. I paid $17.95 per hank. plus tax. I actually found that to be a pretty reasonable price considering the quality of the yarn
5:09
It's not on the low end, but it's not on the highest end either. It's about in the middle
5:14
I think that that reasonable because like I said this yarn is very high quality I didn find any knots on the inside of the hank
5:31
They used high quality fibers, the Lama Soft and Super Fine Marino
5:37
And you get quite a bit of yardage out of each hank. 211 yards isn't bad
5:45
So if you're looking to spoil yourself like I was, and you can't really afford to pay $30.35 a hank
5:55
then I would recommend that you give Sugarbush a try. I don't believe you'll be disappointed
6:01
I certainly was not disappointed with this yarn. Thank you so much for watching my review of Sugar
6:19
bush rapture yarn. If you enjoyed this video, please give it a like and subscribe to my YouTube
6:26
channel down below. And if you've used this yarn before, then please feel free to leave
6:31
a comment and let me know what you think of it. Well, I've got to get back to work on this
6:37
project of mine. I'm thinking about releasing a video for it. Please let me know if you'd like
6:43
to see that. And I look forward to seeing you all again. And until
6:49
Until next time, happy hooking
